Porto Alegre, November 28, 2023 – A weekly survey released last Thursday (23) by the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, through the Secretariat of Agriculture, indicated that the soybean planting for the 2023/24 crop reached 33% of the total expected area of 16.563 mln acres.

According to the Ministry, sowing was at 19% in the previous week. In the same period last year, it reached 34% of the 15.978 mln hectares cultivated in the 2022/23 season.

Climate forecasts point to a period of reasonable moisture in the Core Zone between November 26 and December 2, which should allow for good planting progress and also be favorable to crops already sown. In the northern half of the country, greater moisture is expected, which should prevent farm machines from advancing better, although it is favorable to the initial development of plants.

In the period between December 3 and 9, moisture decreases a little in the Core Zone, but with no absence of rain being predicted, which should once again be favorable for both planting and crop development.
