La petrolera colombiana Ecopetrol informó que ante la decisión de Shell de retirarse de los activos costa afuera del Caribe Sur, inició un plan para determinar la mejor alternativa que garantice la continuidad de los proyectos.
En los bloques Col 5, Purple Angel y Fuerte Sur se encuentran los descubrimientos de gas Kronos1, Purple Angel 1, Gorgon 1 y 2, y Glaucus 1 que venían siendo operados por Shell. Estos proyectos, técnica y económicamente viables, son prioritarios para Ecopetrol.
Ecopetrol y Shell continúan siendo socios y, junto con Total, avanzan en el desarrollo del campo Gato Do Mato en Brasil, al cual se le destinarán recursos significativos en el año 2025.
