La Red Nacional de Monitoreo de la chicharrita del maíz (Dalbulus maidis) en su informe 43 alertó que en el NOA, el NEA y el Centro-Norte de la Argentina siguen concentrando los mayores niveles de capturas mientras que en el Centro-Sur y el Litoral la dinámica poblacional se mantiene estable.
La presencia de maíces voluntarios o guachos en lotes de maíz temprano ya cosechados constituye un componente epidemiológico de alta relevancia, ya que actúan como un puente verde que favorece la supervivencia del vector, explicó Alejandro Vera, coordinador de la Red.
Pidió aumentar el monitoreo donde las heladas son tardías o de baja intensidad, ya que la persistencia de hospederos verdes favorece la supervivencia del Dalbulus maidis durante el período invernal.
POR REGIONES
En el NEA, la otra zona endémica, el 84% de las trampas se ubicó en cultivos de maíz, la mayoría en estadios fenológicos reproductivos avanzados (R6), y hubo un incremento significativo en el promedio de capturas de chicharrita. E
En el Centro-Sur, donde el 65% de las trampas se situó en lotes de maíz, siguen predominando las localidades donde el vector está ausente: representaron el 42% del total.
En el Litoral, donde el 41% de las trampas se situó sobre maíz, el 94% registró adultos de Dalbulus maidis. El 26% de las trampas tuvo más de 100 capturas, concentradas principalmente en Entre Ríos.
En la región Centro-Norte, donde el 65% de las trampas estuvo instalado en cultivos de maíz, el 95% tuvo capturas de chicharritas, y el 81% en la categoría de mayor abundancia (más de 100 adultos por trampa), lo que refleja una mayor presión poblacional del vector en la región.
