Durante su presentación en el Congreso Aapresid, el secretario de Agricultura de Argentina, Sergio Iraeta, rechazó que el país se adapte a las exigencias proteccionistas internacionales, respecto a los avances en el acuerdo entre el Mercosur y la Unión Europea.
Durante la apertura del Congreso Aapresid, Iraeta enfatizó los avances alcanzados en la apertura de mercados externos y el fortalecimiento de los esquemas locales para incentivar la inversión productiva.
«No vamos a acceder a las exigencias ambientales, sanitarias o técnicas para que sean utilizadas como nuevas formas de proteccionismo. Esto requiere una acción proactiva de las cadenas y una articulación permanente entre el sector público y privado», indicó
En su exposición, detalló las reformas que permitieron reducir aranceles a la importación de insumos y alcanzar en 2025 un récord de envíos agrícolas de 115 millones de toneladas por US$ 52.300 millones. Añadió además que el sector agroindustrial representa el 60% de las exportaciones del país y se consolidó como el principal generador de divisas.
El funcionario repasó la agenda de desregulación y la baja de los derechos de exportación para diversas economías regionales, señalando que para la soja se implementó una reducción del 33% al 24% con proyección gradual hacia 2028.
«Reafirmando el compromiso de erradicar los derechos de exportación sobre la base del equilibrio fiscal», sostuvo Iraeta al referirse al esquema de retenciones impulsado por el Poder Ejecutivo. «El Gobierno defenderá a la producción nacional frente a exigencias ambientales o sanitarias arbitrarias que funcionen como barreras proteccionistas sin sustento científico», concluyó el secretario durante el evento.
