El gobierno nacional oficializó la reforma del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA), que dejará de ser un organismo descentralizado con autarquía para convertirse en un ente desconcentrado dependiente de la Secretaría de Agricultura.
Esta medida, junto con la disolución del Instituto Nacional de Semillas (Inase) y otras reorganizaciones, fue publicada mediante el decreto 462/2025.
Según el Ejecutivo, el INTA acumulaba una estructura sobredimensionada con más de 6.000 empleados y un presupuesto de $229.000 millones. Se cuestionó su orientación hacia la agroecología y la agricultura familiar, alejándose según el gobierno de las prioridades de innovación y transferencia tecnológica.
El nuevo esquema prevé una conducción centralizada, con foco en la generación de tecnología y formación de productores, bajo control del Ministerio de Economía.
El Inase, por su parte, será absorbido por la Secretaría de Agricultura, que asumirá sus tareas de fiscalización del sistema nacional de semillas. También se disolverá la Comisión Nacional de Semillas, reemplazada por un comité asesor honorario. El gobierno aseguró que esta reorganización no afectará los derechos de propiedad intelectual.
Otras instituciones reestructuradas son el Instituto Nacional de Vitivinicultura (INV), que pasará a ser una unidad organizativa bajo Agricultura, y el Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial (INTI), que dependerá de la Secretaría de Industria y Comercio. Ambas reformas se justifican en diagnósticos que señalan ineficiencia operativa, exceso de personal y competencia desleal con el sector privado.
