El Banco Central de la República Argentina (BCRA) anunció una nueva fase del esquema monetario, que entrará en vigencia el 1 de enero de 2026, con cambios en la evolución del techo y piso de la banda de flotación cambiaria.
A partir de esa fecha, ambos límites se ajustarán mensualmente en función del último dato de inflación informado por el Indec, reforzando el anclaje nominal del esquema cambiario.
Programa de reservas
En paralelo, el BCRA iniciará desde enero un programa de acumulación de reservas internacionales, consistente con la evolución de la demanda de dinero y la liquidez del mercado de cambios.
Según explicó la entidad, el objetivo es acompañar el proceso de re-monetización de la economía sin generar tensiones cambiarias.
Escenario base
“El escenario base de re-monetización del BCRA prevé un aumento de la base monetaria desde el 4,2% actual al 4,8% del PBI hacia diciembre de 2026”, señaló el Central en un comunicado oficial.
Este incremento podría ser abastecido mediante compras de hasta US$ 10.000 millones, siempre sujeto a la oferta de flujos de la balanza de pagos.
Escenario alternativo
El BCRA agregó que, en caso de registrarse un aumento adicional de la demanda de dinero equivalente al 1% del PBI, el programa permitiría elevar las compras de reservas hasta US$ 17.000 millones, nuevamente condicionado al desempeño externo.
Coordinación con el Tesoro
Desde el Gobierno indicaron que la política monetaria estará orientada a consolidar el proceso de desinflación y acumulación de reservas.
En este marco, la recuperación del acceso del Tesoro al mercado internacional de capitales permitirá que las divisas adquiridas se acumulen en el balance del BCRA, en lugar de destinarse al pago de vencimientos de deuda.
Transparencia y encajes
Como parte del nuevo marco, el BCRA anunció que retomará la publicación de su Informe Trimestral de Política Monetaria, comenzando con el correspondiente a diciembre de 2025.
Asimismo, continuará avanzando en el proceso de normalización gradual de la política de encajes, con el objetivo de fortalecer la transmisión monetaria y mejorar el funcionamiento del sistema financiero.
