Porto Alegre, July 22th, 2024 – Brazil’s soybean exports are expected to hit 107 mln tons in 2025, against 97 mln in 2024, an increase of 10%. The forecast is part of the Brazilian supply and demand estimate, released by Safras & Mercado last Friday (19). This is the first set of projections for the 2025 business year, which includes the new crop (2024/25).
According to Safras, crushing will reach 55.5 mln tons in 2025 and 54.3 mln tons in 2024. The consultancy indicates imports of 150 thousand tons in 2025, against 970 thousand tons in 2024.
For the 2025 season, the total supply of soybeans is expected to increase by 11% to 174.55 mln tons. Total demand is projected by Safras at 166 mln tons, up 8% from the previous year. Therefore, ending stocks are expected to rise by 199%, from 2.859 mln to 8.551 mln tons.
Safras estimates soymeal production at 42.7 mln tons in 2025, 2% higher. Exports are expected to fall 2% to 22 mln tons, while domestic consumption is projected at 20.3 mln, increasing by 9%. Stocks are expected to rise 19% to 2.52 mln tons.
Soyoil production is expected to grow 2% to 11.13 mln tons. Brazil is likely to export 1 mln tons, down 20%. Domestic consumption is expected to rise 7% to 10.3 mln tons. Use for biodiesel should increase 11% to 6.2 mln tons. The forecast for stocks is a 27% decline to 415 thousand tons.
