Porto Alegre, October 1st, 2025 – Soybean planting is progressing in Brazil, still in its early stages due to the cycle, seasonality, and the drought window for some regions. However, the outlook is quite positive, with rains appearing in the country’s Midwest region and good prospects for October, so we should not have any problems with delays in planting the new soybean crop. Between September 26th and October 2nd, the best rainfall prospects are in the southern region of the country, mainly in Santa Catarina, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul. In the center of the country, the best rainfall volumes will occur between October 4th and 5th, favoring the progress of planting and the new crop cycle.
October should be a very positive month, with rains expected across practically the entire country. Forecasts are favorable for now, including Rio Grande do Sul, which should have a better season this year in terms of precipitation. Looking at the months from November to February, the maps indicate high levels of expected rainfall. In this case, we could experience harvest problems on the 26th. However, the expected rainfall is beneficial.
In Paraná, approximately 18% of the soybean area has been planted. This rate is equivalent to around 1.062 mln hectares planted, out of a total of 5.9 mln hectares estimated for the state. The previous week, the rate was 8%. In the same period last year, the rate was 13%, while the five-year average for the period is 11.6%.
In Mato Grosso, out of a total expected area of 12.83 mln hectares, roughly 8% has been planted, equivalent to approximately 1.026 mln hectares. The previous week, the rate was 1%. In the same period last year, the rate was 1%, while the five-year average for the period is 4.3%.
In Mato Grosso do Sul, nearly 2% of the area has already been planted, representing approximately 91,000 hectares of soybeans planted. No data was reported the previous week. In the same period in 2024, the increase was 1%, while the five-year average for this time of year is 2.6%.
