The percentage planted so far remains well above the five-year average for the period, indicating an excellent work pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), until May 7, the planted area was indicated at 35%. The market expected 34%. The week earlier, the percentage was 19%. In the same period last year, it was at 11%. The average for the period is 21%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Despite part of the belt having received some rain in the period between May 7 and 13, farm machines have advanced at a reasonable pace in the main growing states, ensuring that the percentage remains above the five-year average.<br>Climate maps now point to some moisture across the growing belt in the period between May 14 and 20, but again without expected excesses.
