Some rains prevented better work progress in some states of the Midwest and Southeast. Despite this, the harvest pace remains ahead of the five-year average in all states that already have agricultural machines on the field, which also keeps the national pace above average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; According to research carried out by SAFRAS &amp; Mercado, until February 11, 25.6% of a total sown area of 40.75 mln hectares had been reaped, equivalent to approximately 10.446 mln hectares. In the previous week, the index was 17.1%. In the same period of the previous year, the percentage was 7.1%. The five-year average for the period is 16.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Rio Grande do Sul, out of a total planted area of 6.33 mln hectares, 0.5% were reaped, or nearly 32 thousand hectares. The week earlier, there was no figure. In the same period last year, the index was 0%. The five-year average for the period is 0%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Paran\u00e1, out of a total area of 5.65 mln hectares sown, 21% were reaped, or the equivalent to approximately 1.187 mln hectares. In the previous week, the index was 17%. In the same period last year, the percentage was 2%, while the five-year average for the period is 11.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Mato Grosso, out of a total sown area of 10.9 mln hectares, 60% were reaped, or roughly 6.54 mln hectares. In the previous week, the index was 46%. In the same period last year, the percentage was 22%. The five-year average for the period is 41.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Mato Grosso do Sul, out of a total sown area of 3.8 mln hectares, 27% were reaped, or approximately 1.023 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 10%. In the same period of the previous year, the index was 1.5%, while the five-year average for the period is 13.1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Goi\u00e1s, out of a total sown area of 3.94 mln hectares, 23% were reaped, or nearly 906 thousand hectares. In the previous week, the index was 10%. In the same period last year, the percentage was 6%. The five-year average for the period is 15%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In S\u00e3o Paulo, out of a total sown area of 1.22 mln hectares, 8% were reaped, or approximately 98 thousand hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 4%. In the same period of the previous year, the index was 1%, while the five-year average for the period is 7.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Minas Gerais, out of a total area estimated at 2 mln hectares, 8% were reaped, or approximately 160 thousand hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 4%. In the same period of the previous year, the harvest was 2.5% complete. The five-year average for the period is 7.1%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Bahia, out of a total sown area of 1.72 mln hectares, 10% were reaped, or roughly 172 thousand hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 5%. In the same period last year, the index was 0%. The five-year average for the period is 0.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Weather forecasts point to the maintenance of moisture over parts of the Midwest, Southeast, North and Northeast regions in the period between February 11 and 17, with the highest accumulations being expected for the states of Mato Grosso, Goi\u00e1s, Minas Gerais and all states of the North and Northeast. This fact can prevent better work progress.
