Porto Alegre, November 5, 2021 – October was a slow month for Brazilian pig farming, with lows in wholesale and live pigs. Not even in the first half of the month, when the population was capitalized, was enough to leverage consumption and the flow between wholesale and retail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the face of crowded cold rooms, difficulty in transporting meat, and falling prices, meat-packers were cautious when dealing with animals for slaughter. Moreover, the supply of available animals sped up, natural for a slow business environment, which brought down the bargaining power of pig farmers. Farmers were waiting for a different scenario for this moment due to the preparation of industries for the year-end demand, which was not confirmed. Shy internal demand and crowded slaughterhouses lead to believe there is little room for aggressive highs for the coming few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
