The weekly monitoring from SAFRAS, closed on August 24, indicates that Brazilian growers had already reaped 96% of the 21\/22 crop or nearly 53.99 million from the production estimated at 56.50 million bags. The good progress of the last few weeks even made the harvest percentage align with both the same period last year and the 5-year average for the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arabica harvest advanced to 93% of the expected production, still below the same time last year and the historical average for the period, both at 95%. Preliminary signs indicate a crop with good cup and bean size, which partly offsets the lower volume. This crop profile also has implications on the supply of weaker cups, which gain value due to the lower availability.
