While in the states of Paran\u00e1, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, and Minas Gerais the work progressed well and is already advancing to the final stretch, in other states the planting was slower, falling behind the normal average for this period of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nAccording\nto a survey conducted by SAFRAS &amp; Mercado, until November 20,\nBrazilian growers planted 74.1% of the total area expected for the\ncountry. The percentage is equivalent to nearly 28.391 million\nhectares, out of a total of 38.325 million hectares estimated for the\ncountry. In the previous week, the index was 67.3%. In the same\nperiod of the previous year, the percentage reached 75.7%, while the\nfive-year average for the period is 75.5%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nParan\u00e1, 95% of the area for soybeans were sown. The percentage is\nequivalent to roughly 5.32 million hectares, out of a total of 5.6\nmillion hectares estimated for the state. In the previous week, the\npercentage was 87%. In the same period last year, the index reached\n97%, while the five-year average is 93% for the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nMato Grosso, out of a total expected area of \u200b\u200b10.29\nmillion hectares, 96% have already been sown, equivalent to\napproximately 9.88 million hectares. In the previous week, the\npercentage was 93%. In the same period of the previous year, the\nindex was 99%. The five-year average for the period is 95%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nMato Grosso do Sul, out of a total area estimated at 3.25 million\nhectares, 95% have already been sown, equivalent to roughly 3.09\nmillion hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 90%. In\nthe same period last year, the index was 87%, while the five-year\naverage for the period is 95%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nGoi\u00e1s, out of a total expected area of \u200b\u200b3.795\nmillion hectares, 69% were sown, or approximately 2.62 million\nhectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 61%, while in the\nsame period last year the index was 77%. The five-year average for\nthe period is 82.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nS\u00e3o Paulo, out of a total area estimated at 1.08 million hectares,\n50% were sown, or roughly 540 thousand hectares. In the previous\nweek, the percentage was 30%, while in the same period of the\nprevious year the index was 94%. The five-year average for the period\nis 86.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nMinas Gerais, out of a total area estimated at 1.755 million\nhectares, 96% were sown, or approximately 1.51 million hectares. In\nthe previous week, the percentage was 62%. In the same period last\nyear, the index was 67%, while the five-year average for the period\nis 70%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nBahia, out of a total area estimated at 1.67 million hectares, 47%\nwere sown, or roughly 785 thousand hectares. In the previous week,\nthe percentage was 40%, while in the same period last year the index\nwas 18%. The five-year average for the period is 42.2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nSanta Catarina, the planting is 65% complete of an expected total\narea of \u200b\u200b750\nthousand hectares, which is equivalent to approximately 488 thousand\nhectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 50%. In the same\nperiod of the previous year, the index was 88%, while the average for\nthe period is 77.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nWeather\nforecasts point to little or no moisture in the period between\nNovember 20 and 26 for the states of Santa Catarina, Paran\u00e1, Mato\nGrosso do Sul, S\u00e3o Paulo, and parts of the states of Rio Grande do\nSul, Minas Gerais, Goi\u00e1s, and Mato Grosso. This low moisture will\nagain concern growers who have already sown their crops and need more\nregular rain from now on. The states of the North and Northeast, on\nthe other hand, must receive reasonable rainfall, with highlight on\nsignificant precipitation in Par\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nIn\nthe period between November 27 and December 3, practically all the\ngrowing states in the country will again receive precipitation,\nalbeit in small volume in some locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nSAFRAS\nLatam<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Porto Alegre, November 23, 2020 &#8211; The planting progress of the new Brazilian soybean crop was mixed in the main growing states of the country.
