The lack of moisture continues discouraging growers in the Midwest, Southeast, and part of the South region. In Mato Grosso do Sul, Goi\u00e1s, and Minas Gerais only small areas with irrigation were sown. Growers remain concerned about the lack of rainfall and the risk of replanting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; According to a survey conducted by SAFRAS\n&amp; Mercado, until October 9, Brazilian growers sowed 2.3% of the total area\nexpected for the country. The percentage is equivalent to nearly 887 thousand\nhectares sown, out of a total of 37.940 million hectares estimated for planting\nin the country. In the previous week, the percentage was 1.5%. In the same\nperiod of the previous year, the percentage reached 9.5%, while the five-year\naverage for the period is 9.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Paran\u00e1, 10% of the soybean area were sown,\nequivalent to around 560 thousand hectares out of a total of 5.6 million hectares\nestimated for the state. In the previous week, the percentage was 6%. In the\nsame period last year, the percentage reached 25%, while the five-year average\nis 27.6% for the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Mato Grosso, out of a total expected\narea of \u200b\u200b10.21 million hectares, 3% have already been sown, equivalent to nearly 306\nthousand hectares. The index hit 2% in the previous week,\nand 16% in the same\nperiod of the previous year. The five-year average for the period is 14.4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Mato Grosso do Sul, out of a total area\nestimated at 3.08 million hectares, 0.3% have already been sown, equivalent to\napproximately 9 thousand hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was\n0.2%. In the same period last year, the index was 7%, while the five-year\naverage for the period is 12%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Goi\u00e1s, out of a total expected area of \u200b\u200b3.745 million\nhectares, 0.2% were sown, or nearly 7 thousand hectares. In the previous week,\nthe percentage was 0.1%, while in the same period last year the percentage was\n6%. The five-year average for the period is 4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In Minas Gerais, out of a total area\nestimated at 1.745 million hectares, 0.2% were sown, or approximately 3\nthousand hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 0.1%. In the same\nperiod last year, the percentage was 4%, while the five-year average for the\nperiod is 1.6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; vWeather forecasts point to the arrival of\na slightly moister period in the Midwest, Southeast, and part of the Southern region\nof the country between October 9 and 15, which will certainly be beneficial for\nsoils and may encourage part of growers to speed up the work.
