The planting of the new Brazilian soybean crop lost momentum again in the week between November 5 and 11. Although there have been recoveries in some states, the national index has advanced more slowly and is now approaching the five-year average for the period. The positive highlight is the state of Mato Grosso, whose planting is almost over.

According to a survey carried out by SAFRAS & Mercado, until November 11, Brazilian producers sowed 67.3% of the total area expected for the country in the 2022/23 crop.      Weather forecasts now point to a period of higher moisture in all producing regions in the period between November 11 and 17. The largest accumulated rainfall must occur in sections of the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Tocantins, and Pará. Such an environment can prevent a better planting advance but be favorable to the development of crops already sown.

In the period between November 18 and 24, the situation must be very similar to the previous period, but with lower moisture being forecast for the states of Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul.
