Internal physical coffee market falls in line with losses abroad

570

The domestic physical market reflects the ICE US losses, finding little relief in the slight recovery of the dollar against the real. Bids for good cup in the south of Minas Gerais fell to BRL 1,240 per 60-kg bag, with distant sellers asking BRL 1,290 per bag. The market moves away from the reference of BRL 1,300 and is already approaching the level of BRL 1,200 per bag. Fine cup ranges from BRL 1,280 to 1,340 in the Cerrado and Mogiana, with fine cherry coffee reaching between BRL 1,320 and 1,390 a bag.

Rio coffee dropped to BRL 1,030 to 1,080 a bag with 20% defects in the Matas de Minas region. The idea for conillon type 7/8 in Colatina, Espírito Santo, dropped to BRL 610 a bag, with the domestic industry working from hand to mouth. The lack of external competitiveness of the Brazilian conillon favors the strategy of the domestic industry. Hard arabica cup with 600 defects ranges from BRL 1,190 to 1,250 a bag. There is a high price difference between arabica and conillon, justifying the preference of the domestic roasted and ground industry for the latter.
