Links deste artigo

The harvest of the new Brazilian soybean season has progressed at a moderate pace. The states of Paraná and Mato Grosso continue to stand out, but the state of Mato Grosso do Sul has already started the work. This season’s harvest remains behind the normal average due to initial delay and rainfall in some of the regions that are already reaping.

According to research carried out by SAFRAS & Mercado, until January 17, 1.5% of a total sown area of 37.032 million tons were reaped, equivalent to roughly 545 thousand hectares. The five-year average for the period is 2.1%.

In Paraná, out of a total area of 5.56 million hectares, 1% was reaped, equivalent to approximately 56 thousand hectares. The five-year average for the period is 3.2%.

In Mato Grosso, out of a total sown area of 9.78 million hectares, 5% were reaped, or approximately 489 thousand hectares. The five-year average for the period is 4.5%.

Weather forecasts indicate significant rainfall for Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso, part of Mato Grosso do Sul, and São Paulo for the next 7 days.
