Brazilian soybean harvest has another positive week

     Porto Alegre, April 12 2021 – The harvest of the new Brazilian soybean season again evolved at a good pace in most of the main producing states of the country. The low moisture registered in several states allowed a good advance of machines, which advance into the last areas of the Midwest and Southeast and part of the South regions.

     According to a survey conducted by SAFRAS & Mercado, until April 9, 83.3% of a total sown area of 38.65 mln hectares were reaped, equivalent to approximately 32.20 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 76.2%. In the same period last year, 87.6% of the area had already been reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 84.2%.

     In Rio Grande do Sul, out of a total sown area of 6.08 mln hectares, 40% were reaped, or approximately 2.43 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 27%. In the same period of the previous year, 74% had already been reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 54.8%.

     In Paraná, out of a total area of 5.6 mln hectares sown, 98% were reaped, or the equivalent of approximately 5.49 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 90%. In the same period last year, 98% were already reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 93.6%.

     In Mato Grosso, out of a total sown area of 10.3 mln hectares, 99% were reaped, or approximately 10.2 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 99%. In the same period last year, 100% had already been reaped. The five-year average for the period is 99.2%.

     In Mato Grosso do Sul, out of a total sown area of 3.25 mln hectares, 99% were reaped, or approximately 3.22 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 98%. In the same period of the previous year, 100% had already been reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 100%.

     In Goiás, out of a total sown area of 3.795 mln hectares, 98% were reaped, or approximately 3.72 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 95%. In the same period last year, 96% had already been reaped. The five-year average for the period is 97.6%.

     In São Paulo, out of a total sown area of 1.16 mln hectares, 94% were reaped, or approximately 1.09 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 93%. In the same period of the previous year, 98% had already been reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 97.8%.

     In Minas Gerais, out of a total area estimated at 1.82 mln hectares, 94% were reaped, or approximately 1.71 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 92%. In the same period of the previous year, the percentage reaped reached 92%. The five-year average for the period is 91.8%.

     In Bahia, out of a total sown area of 1.7 mln hectares, 65% were reaped, or approximately 1.11 mln hectares. In the previous week, the percentage was 32%. In the same period last year, 41% had already been reaped. The five-year average for the period is 49%.

     The weather forecasts point again to a week that is not very moist in practically all the growing states of the country between April 9 ​​and 15, which must favor the advancement of machines.
