Brazilian soybean harvest advances at reasonable pace

Links deste artigo

The harvest of the new Brazilian soybean crop had a week of reasonable progress, with different rates in growing states.

The rains that hit parts of Minas Gerais, Goiás Mato Grosso, and the states of the North and Northeast regions prevented a better advance of machines. On the other hand, in the other states of the South, Southeast and Midwest, little moisture allowed a good progress of the work.

According to a survey conducted by SAFRAS & Mercado until March 27, 74.4% of a total sown area of 37.11 million tons were reaped, equivalent to roughly 27.61 million hectares. In the previous week, the index was 68.40%. In the same period last year, 75.5% of the area had already been reaped, while the five-year average for the period is 72.1%.
