Work gains more pace, and the harvest is approaching half of the expected production. Dry climate continues to favor both the coffee harvest and processing. In this sense, the weekly monitoring by SAFRAS indicates that, until June 29, Brazilian growers reaped 48% of the 21/22 crop or nearly 26.89 mln from the production estimated at 56.50 mln bags. The work progress is in line with the same period last year, but still below the 5-year average for the period (51%).
The arabica harvest is 34% complete, against 39% in the same period last year and 42% of the historical average for the period. The quality profile of the crop remains positive, especially in terms of cup.
The conillon harvest is 68% complete, slightly below 70% in the same period last year. And also well below the 77% average for the period. Slower maturation delayed the beginning of work, justifying this performance. besides, there are also reports of a lack of manpower.
